A large reputable Burnaby boat dealership, M&P Mercury Sales is recruiting a New and Used Boat Salesperson to join our Burnaby Sales team. Are you a professional sales person who is result oriented with an understanding on how to maximize leads and follow-up with clients to maximize referrals. If you are interested in the boat retail environment, have outstanding communication skills, are an excellent listener; have good computer skills and are motivated, we would like to hear from you.

Previous marine experience is preferred. Boat and engine product knowledge is a definite asset. A fast learner and self motivated individual would excel in this role. You work well under pressure, independently and as a team player. An outgoing personality and a good attitude are essential to succeed with our sales team.

JOB TITLE: New/Pre-owned Boat Salesperson
DEPARTMENT: Sales Department

Functions:

  • Act as a principle contact between the Sales Department and the customer
  • Meet dealership Customer Satisfaction Standards and objectives
  • Maximize dealership sales of new, pre-owned and brokerage boats in line with requirements set by the Sales Manager

    RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Report directly to the Sales Manager
  • Maintain a close working relationship with other management
  • Ensure timely delivery of boats sold

    RESPONSIBILTES AND AUTHORITY:
    Customer Satisfaction:

  • Treat all showroom visitors as honoured guests
  • Greet customers promptly and courteously
  • Identify customers needs by demonstrating interest in them, by listening, and by establishing an advisory relationship
  • Offer all 'hot' customers an on-water demonstration (Sea Trial)
  • Ensure that customers receive a thorough explanation regarding optional equipment
  • Create a pleasant non-pressured purchasing experience that will yield repeat customers
  • Follow-up with all showroom and phone inquiries within 24 hours
  • Work with Service to ensure a perfect delivery, always using a delivery checklist and delivery of boats when promised
  • Give every customer a safety presentation and take home package on delivery
  • Ensure that every customer received adequate training in the operation of his/her boat
  • Contact all customers within 3 days of boat delivery to ensure total satisfaction
  • Follow up with customers on a 30 day, 6 month, and annual basis throughout the ownership experience
  • Give every customer a complete presentation of the dealership

    Sales:

  • Aggressively pursue sales in your market, have knowledge of and advise customers of dealership benefits that can increase sales
  • Establish and maintain a customer record and customer follow-up system
  • Prospect for customers, using mailers, telephone, personal contacts, referrals, etc.
  • Work the floor, handling walk-in customers as assigned
  • Know competitive products, local market influences and be able to discuss them with customers
  • Ask for referrals at the close of every sale
  • Maintain a closing ratio according to dealership policy
  • Explain Sea Ray Survey Index process and importance

    Interdepartmental Relations:

  • Work with the service department to provide customers the best possible treatment before, during and after the sale
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all dealership personnel
  • Treat all dealership personnel with courtesy and respect

    Expense Control:

  • Fill out all sales documents completely and accurately. Submit them to the office promptly
  • Submit to Management all deals for final approval

    Requirements:
    Housekeeping/Safety:
  • Keep desk and office area neat, clean and organized at all times
  • Ensure that display and demo boats are in a clean and presentable condition at all times
  • Treat all dealership boats and other equipment in a manner that follows safety and security standards established by the dealership
  • Ensure that all showroom areas are clean and presentable at all times

    Personal

  • Maintain professional attire and grooming according to dealership policy
  • Adhere to dealership policy regarding promptness and dependability
  • Maintain a pleasant demeanor at all times

    Professional Development

  • Actively participate in training programs as requested by management. Complete on line training modules as directed by Sales Manager.

    Customer Satisfaction:

  • 100 percent of customers are Completely Satisfied with their overall boat purchase experience as measured by the Dealer Customer Satisfaction Survey
  • 100 percent of customers are Completely Satisfied with each item measured on the Dealer Customer Satisfaction Survey
  • Customer satisfaction rating show consistent quarterly improvement

    Sales:

  • Meet sales objective as established in conjunction with the Sales Manager
  • Maintain daily phone log and walk-in log for prospecting follow-up
  • Continually strive for excellence in all activities to achieve our Mission Statement
